The following outlines the legal provisions regarding leaves of absence, vacation, and paid time off (PTOs) as stipulated under Philippines legislation. These regulations establish the entitlements and requirements for employees in the Philippines with respect to taking time away from work, including official leave periods, annual vacation, and paid time off.
Vacations
For each year of service with LSG, employees are entitled to five (5) working days of vacation at minimum.
Paid Sick Leave
Employees are entitled to 5 working paid sick leave per year.
Maternity Leave
Employees in the Philippines are entitled to a total of 108 calendar days of paid maternity leave. This period may be extended for up to 30 days without paid. A female solo parent has an additional fifteen (15) days of leave.
Paternity Leave
The father is entitled to seven (7) calendar days of paid paternity leave.
Solo Parents Leave
Employees who are recognised as solo parents are eligible for up to seven (7) working days of paid leave each year. This leave is intended to allow solo parents to attend to essential parental duties and responsibilities. To qualify for this entitlement, employees must have completed at least six months of continuous service with LSG.
Bereavement Leave
Employees are entitled to three (3) paid working days of bereavement leave in the event of the death of an immediate family member. Eligible relatives for this leave are: parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, spouse, permanent partner, and in-laws.
VAWC Leave
Female employees who are victim-survivors of VAWC can avail a ten (10) working days paid leave to attend to medical and legal concerns resulting from violence against women and their children. A certification from the barangay or court to show that a legal action is pending is required. This period is ‘extendible when the necessity arises as specified in the protection order.’
Magna Carta (Special Leave for Women)
Female employees who have undergone surgery due to gynecological disorders as certified by a competent physician, are entitled to a two (2) months paid leave.
Other Paid Time Off (PTOs)
Employees who have completed one year of service are entitled to request 5 days of paid leave per year, which shall be designated for personal purposes. These days may be taken once per month or up to a maximum of 2 days per month, whether consecutively or not, without exceeding the number of days granted, and subject to clients approval.
